What I got for Christmas 2015

I hope you had a really good Christmas and have been seriously spoilt just like me. I'm just going to say right now thank you so much to my family not only for my presents but for all the food and just being the best family ever.

So I thought I'd share with you some things that I got for Christmas.

Now I don't quite know what the appeal is but for Christmas I really wanted a white board, now when I think of whiteboard I think like doing school work on them but what I really wanted it for was to doodle about on.
My main big present is something I've been admiring in shoe shop windows for months I didn't ask for it for Christmas as they are so expensive, the reason they're so expensive is because they last and last. They are the ever so gorgeous Willow Patterned Dr Martins.

Unfortunately the one's that my mum and my dad brought me are a little to big for me so I'm not able to wear them yet but at least it does mean another trip in to Salisbury which me and my sisters love.

The next thing I got which I'm wearing right now again from my mum and dad is the snuggest
, fluffiest, softest thing ever. It's a penguin onesie from debenhams it has two really deep fluffy pockets and just looks super cute.

My eldest sister made me guess who, horses, the drawings are incredible! She brought a normal guess who, took all the people out then drew all the horses. She's amazing at drawing, I'm so envious of her drawing skills!

My other sister painted me a plate using a stencil, I looks so good, I'm almost to frightened to eat off it! Both my sisters are so creative.

My brother brought me and all my other sister these lovely scarfs, I don't know where he got them from but they are so lovely and are the sort of thing you can wear with anything.

From my Aunt, uncle and cousins I got some really lovely wooden monkeys that I've hung from the end of my curtain rail, I love the way they all have different expressions on their faces.
I also got from her a little wooden tortoise which I sat next to my other wooden tortoise I got from my birthday I've now called them George and Mildred, and I got a little desk top calendar with a tortoise on it.

I got some cookery stuff from my Granny and Gramfer, Cupcakes from the primrose bakery by Martha Swift and Lisa Thompson, You can click here to for their website and see for yourself just how amazing their cakes are. I also got a pastry brush, a spatula ,which I absolutely love the color of and some cupcake cases which say cupcake on the outside, just in case I bake some awful cakes that are unrecognizable in which case you have to consult the packaging to find out what it is!
Another thing I got was a Photo album to put all my favorite photos in, as you all know I love photography.

I also got this gorgeous coat from my other Granny and Grampy, from Joe Browns, unfortunately they are out of stock until the end of January but that just gives me more time to get excited about it!

I just feel so lucky and I felt so overwhelmed at Christmas at how lucky I am.
I'd love to hear what you got, so let me know in the comments.

Chocolate Pudding

If your a chocoholic like me I can assure you that you will love this one. I found this one in a Sam Stern cookery book called get cooking, since then it has become a much loved favorite in our household so hopefully you like it just as much.

Ingredients  For 4

  • 1 tsp of instant coffee
  • 1 1/2 tbsp of boiling water
  • 4 oz of soft butter
  • 4 oz of caster sugar
  • 2 medium eggs
  • 1 tsp of vanilla extract
  • 4 oz of self raising flour
  • 1 oz of cocoa
  • Icing sugar for topping

  • 1 level tbsp cocoa powder
  • 4 oz of soft brown sugar
  • 150 ml of boiling water
  1. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees (160 fan oven)
  2. Grease base and sides of a 850 ml/ 1 1/2 pint oven proof dish.
  3. Mix coffee and boiling water, stirring to dissolve
  4. Put butter and sugar in a large bowl and beat with a wooden spoon until light, pale and creamy. (I personally use the cheats method and use a blender, aren't I lazy?!)
  5. Beat eggs with a fork add to the mix bit by bit beating as you go. add a pinch of flour if it threatens to curdle. when creamy, add vanilla. Add the flour and cocoa in and then the liquid coffee.
  6. Fold everything together with a metal spoon till it just falls off the end of your spoon.
  7. Spoon into the dish leveling the top.

  1. mix brown sugar and cocoa in a bowl. stir in the hot water pour over the sponge. Like he says, it looks crazy and like a cruel joke but trust me it's worth it, stay with it!
  2. Sit it in a roasting tin with enough boiling water to reach half way up the sides.cook for 45 minutes or longer till well risen. A tooth pick should come out clean.Sift icing sugar.
Eat hot, warm or cold. Though my personal favorite is when it's warm and I love to have it with either Vanilla Ice cream, cream or if you want the healthier option yoghurt.

Hope you like it.

Excited for Christmas!!!

The Salisbury Christmas Market. Amazing!

Now I'm not one of those people who puts there Christmas tree up on the 1st of December, we normally end up putting it up on the 23rd of December. Now I like it better like that as it means something exciting happens everyday in the last couple of days running up to Christmas, but this doesn't mean I don't get excited when I see other people's Christmas trees up or other festive things, because I certainly do! I thought I would share with you a couple of Christmassy themed things that are getting me excited.

Right so the first thing is obviously the advent calender's! Now don't judge as I made this with my mum when I was about 3 or 4!
But anyway it does the job and I actually think its really cool to have the same advent calendar to use again and again, even if it isn't the most amazing piece of artwork that you've ever seen in the world and only has one pocket! Still love it!

These are what we've found to put in our advent calendars from Wilkinson's, They are also nut free as well which is great as you can't normally find nut free Chocolate coins.

So Yummy!!!

My family found this in Salisbury's last year and I just think it's really lovely.

Are Wood burner, whats Christmas with out your fire going, and are's is making me both super
toastie and excited!
This is also a picture from salisbury christmas market, Christmas markets are great places to go for Present ideas. Salisbury Christmas market is great, this is the second year we've been, they have loads of amazing crafty bits and pieces as well as being surrounded by an amazing christmassy smell.
So cute!!!
Pretty lights!!!

 Merry Christmas

December Goals

I thought I would start doing Goals for each month as I loved reading Zoe's Monthly goals on Zoe's Musings and I thought I would start doing them to.

  1. So, I have got a lot to do this month, what with making Christmas presents for my family so I'm going to be very busy. My goal is to finish making everyone's Christmas presents as there have been years when I've just had to wrap up the half finished present and finished it after Christmas. I always love making presents because it means that I can get super creative, thinking outside the box.
  2. I don't want to be getting super stressed out, hence why I'm starting now, I do feel very organized this year as I know what I'm doing this year for everyone's presents and have already got two done only three more to go. On the other hand, I wouldn't mind still doing it on the 21st as I always feel so Christmassy and like I said I really enjoy making them. Christmas is about having fun not stressing out, remember that!
  3. Have as much family time as possible, It's going to be really nice because my brother is going to be home for a couple of weeks before Christmas instead of just the odd weekend, so I am going to make the most of it.
  4. Learn to do two dutch braids, I can do them on other peoples hair, just not my own, so after December hopefully I will! I saw Zoella do them and they looked really pretty. I also think if I can master the skill they will look great as I have really super long hair, I might even be able to where them at Christmas.
  5. Last and certainly not least, Tidy my room up for Santa, If you've seen the state of my room then you'll know that it's a big task. So If I suddenly stop blogging you'll know that I still haven't emerged from my floordrobe!
So I hope I can achieve all of these, It's going to be one busy month for sure. I would love to know some of your goals for the month, you can either email me or write them in the comments.

November Favorites

I thought this photo was very fitting as I am very proud of this photo I took!
I haven't been doing Favorites in a long time but I thought I would do one this month as there has been lots of things I've been loving this month and I thought I would like to share it with you.
The last week or so has definitely got a lot colder so I've been trying to make myself as comfy, warm and cozy as possible. You can probably tell!
  • My fairy lights, I've had these for years but unfortunately they stopped working, so I thought that as a Home Ed lesson I could take them over to my Gramfers (the Mr fix it of the family) and see if he could help me fix them. He did, as always, and they just look so pretty and I'm very pleased with them.

  • These are the softest pyjamas I have ever owned, they are amazing. My sisters are very jealous and have both put them on there Christmas lists. I am actually wearing them right now. I am in love!
They are from Marks and Spencer

  • Now as you probably new there was going to have to be a book in my favorites, It's like compulsory! this time it's a whole series of books which also happens to be a classic. I've already read these before as I got them for Christmas several years ago and I just suddenly decided to go the whole hog and read the whole series. I am currently on book 3, I know a lot of reading to be done!

  • Now you might think this is a bit of a weird one, I certainly do, and you will definitely think I am certifiably crazy when I let you in on this mad secret. Let me explain, I was wondering what the YMCA stood for so I asked Siri and he said it stood for Young Mens Christian  Association so I then proceeded to dancing round the house with the music blaring doing full actions. I tell you what though, I felt great afterwards, you should honestly try it! So obviously that automatically became my favorite sing of the month.

  • These are incredible as they're instant heat and they keep my hands so'ooo toastie. I think they are going to be well used with winter on it's way, or already here thinking of how cold it's been the last couple of days.
I found these from Marks and Spencer's unfortunately these aren't the ones that I have, I think the pair I got are from The Works but I thought that these would be cute as a replacement photo!
I hope you enjoyed reading my favorites, I am hoping to start doing them monthly again, also one more thing, get and dance the YMCA!

Quest to Confidence

So I know I haven't blogged in a while. There's a reason for this, I promise I've got excuses!
It was because I didn't enjoy it. Now there's a reason I didn't enjoy it, I wasn't writing about the things I enjoyed. I was trying to be something I wasn't, like the next Hello October. Also I'm trying to do it in secret as I'm not confident enough yet to tell everyone who I really am, very difficult in my house as my bedroom doors whipped open every five seconds by a family member animal or human but I love them, don't get me wrong!

I've decided to change the name of things a little and call things Gracie's Thoughts A Quest To Confidence. The reason for this is because I am on a quest, a quest to confidence and I have a feeling that secretly a lot of people have that same Quest or goal.

I'm going to be writing about my personal experiences on what makes me feel more confident, calm and less anxious. Ready to face anything that life throws at me.

Now I feel I've had some pretty horrible experiences where things didn't go as planned, I didn't stand up for myself when I should of. Obviously I don't want it to happen again so I've decided to try and build myself up, make me stronger so that if someone does throw something nasty at me, it will just rebound off.

If you want to join me on this quest I would be very grateful as I find it very encouraging when people read my posts. I would love suggestions in the comments so we can exchange ideas.

I hope you enjoy this new aspect on my blog and I will still be doing little bits to go along side.
Thanks Gracie

May Favorites

I thought this week I would do this as there are many things that I am loving this month. Here go's.

My first item is a Tangle Teaser, these are great for getting the knots out of your hair (Bonus, as I have about a ton of hair!) My Tangle Teaser isn't actually new but I've only just started using it again as I managed to lose it, I know, how can you lose a bright orange piece of plastic! (Also sorry about the angle of the photo, great blogging skills!)
Next I've treated myself to a pair of shoes as I didn't have any summer shoes. I got these from New Look, click here. I've been wearing these loads, really comfy I picked quite a plane color so they sort of go with anything.

Next is a film which has recently come out, Big Hero 6. OK, it's Disney but it's really funny,Click here.

I'm really loving my deodorant at the moment, it's from Holland and Barrett. There are different scents, My favorites are the pomegranate and the lavender.

This was actually a freebie, if you by three boxes of Kellogg's cereals you get a free personalized spoon. There actually really good quality spoons, so yep I'm loving that to.

So thanks for reading this post, hope you enjoyed it.

Home Made Pizza

Hi there, I don't know whether you remember but I mentioned in my 25 facts about me post that one of my favorite foods is pizza. I thought I would share with you my recipe. Here go's.

8 oz White Bread Flour
4 oz Wholemeal Bread Flour
65 ml Boiled Water
1 & a 1/2 teaspoons of yeast
1/2 a teaspoon of Salt
4 teaspoons Olive Oil
Tube Tomato Puree
Vegetables for topping ( I like to use Onions and Peppers - I know, boring but I like to keep it simple.)

  1. So first of all put the White and Wholemeal bread flour into a bowl.
  2. Then add the Yeast and Salt.
  3. In a jug or in a separate bowl, mix the water and the milk together to make it luke warm.
  4. Add the Olive Oil to the milk and water. ( Don't worry if  the Oil doesn't mix in.)
  5. Then add this to the Flours, Yeast and Salt. Stir the liquid in with a wooden spoon.
  6. Next knead the dough, adding more flour if it is to sticky. You want to have a smooth soft dough.
  7.  Cover the dough with a tea-towel and leave in a warm place for an hour or until twice the original size.
  8.  Flour the work surface before you roll out the dough. Roll out the dough using a rolling pin until it is level all over and about 1/2 an inch thick.
  9. Lie it on a tray, I normally like to use a pizza tray.
  10. Now for the topping. Spread the Tomato Puree on to the top of the pizza.
  11. Grate your cheese and chop up the onions and peppers.
  12. Sprinkle the cheese on to the pizza base, then add the onions and peppers.
  13. You then put the pizza in the oven at 220°C for 30 minuets or until the base is crisp.
So that's it. Let me know in the comments if you try this or if there is any
recipes you want me to try out.
